Data Warehouse for MHC

Most HMO's today are faced with the problematic of reporting and data analysis. MHC or for that matter any production database does not easily produce the data in a meaningful way to do this.

Data warehousing is a specialty in itself. The first step of setting up a data warehouse is to set up a data transport mechanism.

I have successfully done this for MHC using Universe ODBC and Microsoft's Data Transformation Service (DTS). Transport speeds range between 300 and 2000 records per second for a transformation from Universe to Microsoft SQL Server and 300 to 1000 records per second using Oracle as target database.

Using DTS and your own data warehouse allows for full control of the data and opens up the reporting to main-stream tools and use of readily available skills.
